My name is Ian Hibberson and I am a fully qualified and experienced Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist working in private practice from my home in Nottingham. I am a graduate in Humanistic Counselling practice from the University of Nottingham. My aim as a counsellor is to provide you with a physical and emotional environment within which you can feel safe to explore your problems, issues and concerns with trust and without fear of judgement.

I will respect and support your ability to make your own choices and be respectful and sensitive to who you are and the changes you wish to make. As your counsellor I shall not be offering instant solutions or judgements. I will however be offering you my full and undivided attention and a commitment to supporting and working with you towards developing your own understandings, insights and solutions in ways that are right for you.

Counselling offers you the opportunity, the time and the space and a safe environment within which to explore alternative and more effective ways of living.
Services
The first session will be an opportunity for us to meet and for you to tell me a little about yourself, your life.
Counselling is generally attended on a weekly basis and each meeting lasts for 1 hour and can be short term 5 to 6 sessions or on a longer term basis.
Often clients attend counselling for 5 and 6 weekly sessions and then decide that longer term ongoing support would be of help and so then attend on a fortnightly or monthly basis.
It may be that fortnightly meetings offer the right pace, rhythm, thinking time and therapeutic value between meetings.
If I cannot take your call then you can leave a message - my answer machine is private and confidential.
I will call you back.

Spring is on its way again.
Flowers are beginning to shoot and penetrate the surface after a long cold and hard winter underground - waiting patiently to re-enter into the 'upper world'.
Plants that have not completely weathered the storm below ground are beginning in readiness to grow.
