Services
I have worked as a counsellor since 2005.
In 2008 I started to work with a Reach therapist to look at the issues I was struggling with in my life.
My training and development as a therapist in the Reach methodology, as a consequence, is very much linked to my own personal and spiritual process which is still on-going.
I believe that unless you have identified and faced your own demons, you are not fully able to help others to do this for themselves.
I have had and continue to have the opportunity to experience for myself the great benefits of the Reach process and philosophy when facing my own past and present challenges.
I am an Associate of Reach, and work in The Reach Approach which is holistic and integrative in nature.
Holistic means considering the person as a whole, recognizing that the needs of all aspects of the individual - mind, body, spirit and the environments in which he or she operates - must be met in order for the individual to realise their potential and enjoy their life fully.
Integrative means using different psychological approaches and therapeutic tools to suit the individual needs of each person in order to help them achieve emotional wellbeing.
Normally sessions will take place once a week - on the same previously agreed day and time.
However, for some individuals it may be more practical or convenient to meet every fortnight.
The best arrangement for you can be discussed when therapy commences.
Short-term therapy is considered to be up to 12 sessions (approximately 3 months).
Medium-term therapy is between 3 months and a year and long- term therapy is considered to be anything over a year.
These time scales are not definitive because it does depend how frequently a client is attending i.e. weekly or fortnightly.
I am committed to providing the best service possible to all my clients.
This includes adhering to the legal requirements in relation to confidentiality and data protection.
I am a member of the BACP so I am bound to their clear and specific codes of conduct.
Clients can therefore be assured that their issues and concerns will be explored in the strictest confidence.
This means that I will only collect data that helps me offer you the best service possible - I will therefore not collect or retain excessive amounts of data.
