Counselling can offer a safe environment where you can feel valued and respected as individuals. We all experience times in our lives when we feel confused, anxious or burdened by events - Relationship Difficulties, Bereavement, Health Issues, Emotional Problems, Change, Loss, Work Based Conflict, Redundancy or crisis in our lives may be some of the reasons that can lead us to seek professional help.

We have within us the ability to understand our thoughts and feelings, however sometimes our experiences can leave us feeling overwhelmed anxious and vulnerable finding self-understanding and moving forward most difficult. Talking to a professional counsellor can help at these times. Counselling can offer you a safe place to explore the problems you face without feeling judged.

It can also offer a quiet space in which to deepen your understanding of yourself, to discover and develop more of your own potential. Counsellors do not give advice but offer a supportive relationship where the client is encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings.

Anxiety becomes a issue when worry builds to a level where it has a physical reaction or stops you leading your normal life.
The most common diagnosis of anxiety problems are associated with worry and fear.
When the psychological anxiety reaction becomes prolonged and is uncomfortable it may result in a physical problem such as; sleep disturbance and gastric problems which are very intrusive to everyday functioning.
Anxiety disrupts the persons normal way of being.
Counsellling will help to put life issues in prospective, change disfunctional and negative thought patterns, address where these thoughts come from and work with building a positive understanding.
The greatest tribute you can give another is to celebrate their life and grieve the loss of it.
Death will come in many guises and at different times in our lives, it may be expected or sudden and we may not be prepared for this painful journey.
It could feel too soon, as in the loss of a child or young person.
There may never feel a right time to say goodbye.
The grieving process has many stages, denial, isolation, anger, guilt, depression and although it may not feel possibly, or feel very unlikely in the early stages, acceptance and moving on will finnaly happen.
We often use the word depression when speaking of a low mood due to a life event which has caused emotional discomfort.
In reality depression is a debilitating illness which may at some stage need medical treatment.
We all have low moods at some time in our life, such as following a bereavement, redundancy or divorce, usually taking time and distance before the symptoms lighten and fade away bringing the individual back to what they feel is normality.
Sometimes this low mood can slip into a depressive state and the individual will need professional support to make a positive change.
We all experience change in life both for the good and bad.
Life is continually changing and evolving - nothing stands still.
The individual has the power to take control over most changes, however there are times when change is out of our control.
The change may be affecting you, someone you love or are acquainted to.
Change can take many forms from permanent to a brief moment in life, all will have an impact.
Think of the image of the ground moving below your feet - my guess is that you would reach out for something or someone to hold on to.
