St Barnabas Counselling Centre
Please email admin@stbcc.org.uk or telephone 01603 625222 for information or an intake appointment. Counselling: At St Barnabas every effort is made to ensure you feel welcomed. Your counsellor will give you space and time to talk. You will be listened to and accepted. You will not be judged. It is our hope that you will begin to feel accompanied on this part of your life journey and less alone.

You will not be pressured to go to places you are not yet ready to go to. Your counsellor will try to provide a safe place in which you can begin to examine things in depth and find your way forward. Sometimes things can be dealt with and left behind. Sometimes it is a case of learning to live with something so that it doesn't drag you down and stop you living freely.

The service is accredited by The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and governed by their ethical framework. We offer online and telephone counselling for those clients who prefer to work this way because of social anxiety or physical difficulties in getting to the Centre.
Services
Cost: We are independent.
We don't get funding from the government or NHS (even though GPs refer people to us all the time!).
We need to ask you for a contribution to the costs of running the Centre which include paying for supervision and training for our counsellors.
This is always less than the cost of private counselling and is tailored to your ability to pay.
We agree this with you at your initial intake meeting.
Special circumstances of financial hardship can be discussed.
We don't like to turn anyone away.
St. Barnabas is well-recognised for the quality of counselling we offer.
We assist our counsellors with the provision of in-house group supervision, community meetings and training with guest speakers.
Our counsellors all have a counselling qualification to advanced/post-graduate diploma level or equivalent, or are completing their training.
Even if we have no immediate vacancies we are interested to hear from you as vacancies can occur throughout the year.
If you are registered and qualified with the BACP, UKCP or other recognised body, or are in the last year of a recognised diploma course, please download our application form and send it to us with a covering letter and your CV.
