Julia Bueno Ukcp Reg Psychotherapist
I am an experienced UKCP registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, working in Stoke Newington, N16. I have many years experience working online too. If you are reading this, I'm guessing you are feeling something that is getting in the way of how you would like to be. Maybe you are sad, angry, anxious, low or struggling to like yourself.

Maybe you are feeling ok, but you would like to feel better about yourself, or improve your relationship with other people in your life - such as a partner, family members, friends or colleagues at work. I am convinced that talking about your concerns with someone trained to hear them, and respond to them, in a particular way, can be very helpful.

It won't 'cure' you, or cancel out a painful past, but I know that it may well help you to move on with greater ease, and even pave the way for further positive change. As well as my private practice, I have worked for the NHS, in Higher Education and for charitable counselling services, which means I have had the privilege of working with a number of presenting issues with people from many walks of life.
Services
It estimated that one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage and yet it persists as one of the least known pregnancy stories.
In The Brink of Being, I encourage us to reflect upon this often misunderstood, and little-discussed event.
Drawing on my personal experience, stories from my professional work and research over the years, and interviews with professionals in the field, I attempt to provide history, context and consolation for anyone who has been through pregnancy loss or wants to know how to help someone who has.
I don't distinguish between counselling or psychotherapy unless I have to.
Many suggest that counselling refers to shorter-term goal-oriented work, while psychotherapy involves longer-term work that explores issues in greater depth.
I work with individuals and couples using both models and am guided by what you are able to commit to - emotionally, logistically and financially.
As an 'Integrative' therapist, I draw upon a range of thinking, ideas and techniques, and adapt them to what I think is best for you.
Therapy with me isn't just about our weekly meetings.
I hope to inspire you to explore your inner world further on your own, and to support you in building your resources to manage your emotional world, and make the changes you intend.
This can be done in many ways, but I have learnt the value of reading inspiring works - both of fiction and non-fiction.
I am happy to loan or recommend literature to support you, and the images below give you a glimpse of the many books on my shelves in my consulting room (as well as other things).
I am a UKCP registered supervisor offering clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists - either individually, or in small groups.
I believe that effective supervision involves my offering a space that feels safe enough to explore all aspects of your work with clients - the trickier ones as well as the easier ones.
My integrative model allows for many ways of working to be thought about together, and I have supervised therapists from person-centred, transpersonal, psychodynamic and integrative trainings to date.
I have low-cost places for both therapy and supervision, so please ask if one would mean you could get the support you need.
Cancellations: I charge 10 for any missed session, unless it is cancelled within 24 hours when the full fee is payable.
I am available at various times Mon-Sat, so please ask what suits you best, and we can take it from there.
I work in Stoke Newington with various and easy ways to find me, including buses 73, 476, 243, 149, 67, 76 and 106.
Stoke Newington rail station and Finsbury Park/Manor House tube stations are also nearby.
