Relate NI is a charity with a mission to make expert information and support for healthy relationships available for everyone. It doesn't matter if you're on your own, married, living together, single, separated, younger, older, parenting apart, parenting alone, gay, bisexual, straight or transgender - we're here to support you! Relate NI is a charity which has been providing relationship support and counselling services across Northern Ireland for over 70 years.

We provide counselling services at locations across NI including from Belfast to Derry, Newry to Coleraine and Ballymena to Omagh - we can also offer our professional counselling services through webcam and telephone. Many people turn to relationship counselling when things have already gotten really bad, and while we can provide support at this stage, we are also here whenever you need and we know that regular relationship maintenance can help prevent our relationships from falling into crisis.

Our counsellors provide a caring, supportive and non-judgmental environment to help you find a way through any difficulties you may be facing in your relationship.

Why did you want to be a Boardroom Apprentice with Relate NI - I have benefited from learning about healthy relationships by going to counselling, to support myself and family members with mental health wellbeing.
I am absolutely certain that education and counselling services are an essential part of everyone's health.
I firmly support the work that they do because counselling has enriched all of my relationships at home, at work and with my peers.
It has also helped me want to contribute back to society in a meaningful way.
Currently we are providing both telephone & webcame counselling.
We recommend all clients make a first "one off" assessment appointment to come in and find out about Relate NI services as long as it is safe to do so.
Otherwise, we can have this initial discussion over zoom or the telephone.
We have 9 centres through Northern Ireland.
To make an appointment at any of our centres please call 02890 323454.
Relate counsellors have all received special training in relationship counselling.
It takes 2 to 3 years to become a fully qualified Relate counsellor.
Relationship counselling is available for couples, families and individuals.
Couple and family relationships are fulfilling, satisfying and enriching, but they are also complicated, challenging and constantly changing.
Maintaining a fulfilling relationship is not easy.
It requires effort and everyone experiences the challenges and pressures caused by a wide variety of issues and circumstances, which are normal and perfectly natural.
In every relationship couples/families have to learn how to listen to and understand each other.
Family counselling is largely preventative work, dealing with life issues before they become serious problems requiring specialist interventions.
Every family has arguments at some time.
Usually they are easily resolved, but sometimes the problems just get worse and the longer they are left, the more difficult it is to make up, creating tension and stress for everyone.
You can see a Relate family counsellor individually, as a small group or the whole family together.
We won't take sides or tell you what to do.
