I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with many years experience of working with people on a wide range of issues.

More information about my practice and fees. If you are looking for supervision for your counselling or psychotherapy practice I would be happy to meet you to discuss your needs. There is no fee for the initial consultation. I have an Advanced Diploma in the Supervision of Person-Centred Counsellors from Warwick University and I work with both trainee and experienced counsellors.

More information about counselling supervision. It is quite common to experience stress, anxiety or depression and it can be hard to cope with this on your own. If you have been feeling anxious or depressed research suggests counselling can be helpful.
Services
You may be experiencing a particular difficulty or suffering from general stress.
You may be searching for direction or purpose in life or simply seeking greater personal fulfilment.
Issues like these can be explored in a safe and confidential environment with a counsellor in a way that is not always easy with friends or family.
As a counsellor I will neither judge nor advise you.
My role is to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings.
Anxiety, grief and anger stored up within can frustrate emotional growth which may lead to depression if left unresolved.
Stress refers to the feelings that we experience when the demands made on us are greater than our ability to cope.
At such times we can feel overloaded, tense or vulnerable.
Stress is a normal reaction that all of us experience at times when faced with situations where we feel under too much pressure.
Anxiety is a normal and healthy emotion that we all experience at times.
It is part of our make up as human beings and not something to be eradicated completely.
However we can sometimes become caught up in unhealthy patterns of anxiety which can have more distressing effects.
Feelings of low mood can affect us all from time to time.
Feeling sad or fed up is a normal reaction to experiences that are upsetting, stressful or difficult; those feelings will usually pass.
If the feelings persist and are interfering with your life it may be time to seek help.
Depression is quite common and affects men and women of all ages.
Sometimes depression results from a particular life event or it can be the result of a build up of distress over a period.
Persistent feelings of sadness, loneliness, despair and low self-esteem, are usually a sign that something in your life is wrong.
Healthy and satisfying relationships can help make our lives more fulfilling.
Relationship problems at home, in the family, at work or socially are very common and can cause great distress.
It may be an intimate relationship that has become difficult or you may be finding it hard to get on with someone at work.
Perhaps you have struggled with relationships generally and you have ended up feeling lonely and isolated.
Relationship problems can affect self-esteem and leave us feeling anxious or depressed.
This approach has evolved from early work based on Freudian psychology.
It explores how we are influenced by sub-conscious thought processes and often involves exploring how childhood experiences have affected our thinking and behaviour.
My original training in the 1990's was influenced by this approach and some of those insights still inform my practice.
This is a wide term covering a number of different approaches to therapy including Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional analysis, and Existential approaches.
