Willow Project
Willow Project is a registered charity supporting children, young people, and their families in the Wigan Borough who are affected by mental health and emotional issues. It can be hard asking for, and getting help when you're struggling, so you've made the first step in helping yourself by visiting our website. Before you make the next step, here's a little bit about what counselling is and how Willow Project works.

If we think that you're old enough (around the age of 13) and counselling is the right type of help for you, then you can get help from us without your parents/carers or anyone else knowing. If we don't think that you're old enough, then we would need permission from whoever looks after you before you could start getting help from us. When you start seeing a counsellor, it will just be you and them, with the counselling session lasting for 40 minutes.

Counselling is about talking about the things that are important to you without judgment or us telling you what to do. Please note that at the moment, the waiting list is 9/10 months long for our free service.

Keep an eye out for all updates, tips and information on all of our social media accounts.
Please make a note of our landline 01942 679300, as this is the number you will be contacted on when you reach the top of the waiting list and a slot becomes available.
We will be continuing our face to face counselling service in line with Government guidelines.
We have policies and procedures in place to ensure everyone's safety at this time which will be provided prior to your visit to Willow Project.
We are a charity in the Wigan Borough, in the North West of England.
As a charity, we rely on donations and local or national funding.
The following are some of the companies and trusts who have supported us in funding, donations and fundraisers:.
We are a charity, a bank and a champion for better giving, and for over 90 years we've been helping donors, companies, charities and social organisations make a bigger impact.
We are CAF and we make giving count.
A club comprising of individuals who work together for the good of others through numerous initiatives and fund-raising projects.
My name is Danny Sculthorpe, I am a former professional rugby league player with a number of clubs: Rochdale, Wigan, Castelford, Bradford, Huddersfield and Wakefield all at professional level.
I was fortunate to represent my country and captained the team on two occasions.
During a training accident I was forced into retirement and suffered severe depression and despair with frequent thoughts of taking my own life.
I felt like I was a burden to my family and thought that my wife and children would be better off without me.
It is a brilliant project for young people to be able to meet with your mental Health advisors even if counselling is not needed.
The fellowship given and shared to the young people and adults is really helpful in attempting to understand and nurture and be there for anyone with mental health issues.
My family are with the Golborne branch and we all find this a worthy Willow Project.
Amazing people and great service to support the young people, dedicated staff, nice and welling to help.
Thank you willow project, please keep up the good work.
We are not open on any bank holidays, and we are not open during school holidays.
The counsellor will make you aware of any breaks that may occur due to school holidays with plenty of notice.
If you want to refer a child, young person, or family member, please do not use this contact form.
