We are not offering any face to face counselling or listening services during the pandemic. However we are able to offer online counselling via zoom if you are able to access it. If you wish to access counselling in this way fill out a referral (but no need to chose a venue) and we will get back to you. A confidential counselling service for anyone (regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender or religion) in need of support.
Services
Stockport Christian Counselling was set up in 1989 by a group of local Christians.
In 2009 satellite services were set up in Gorton and Salford with the help of local Christians.
We offer counselling to all people over 18 years of age, both individually and couples, who feel in need of help when life's difficulties make it hard to cope.
We are a registered charity and are staffed entirely by volunteers: trained counsellors; professional supervisors; administrative staff; receptionists and a management committee.

Stockport Christian Counselling does not want anybody to be deterred from using our services because they cannot afford to pay.
Our policy is not charge for either Counselling or Listening.
The charity's entire income comes from donations.
All our staff are volunteers, who do not receive payment for their work for SCC.
Nevertheless, building costs, phones, training, insurance, membership of professional bodies, publicity and other administration costs amount to almost a thousand pounds a month.

Counselling is funded from donations and contributions, which enable Stockport Christian Counselling to continue to be open to all, regardless of their ability to pay.
All we ask is that people make a contribution towards the cost of their session as they are able - after discussion with their counsellor.
