Susie Hudson Counselling & Life Coaching
I have been working with clients since 1996 when I set up as a Stress Manager working with individuals and groups. Before this I worked for many years as a Matrimonial Lawyer and I have wide experience of helping people dealing with the trauma of the breakdown of relationships. In 2002 I completed training as a therapeutic counsellor in the relational approach which is a person centred humanistic approach.

I have done a lot of further training and draw on my skills as is most appropriate and beneficial for the individual client and includes CBT and Mindfulness techniques, Stress Management and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. I am committed to helping people improve the quality of their lives. I feel ten times better, have had the confidence to fulfill my dream of moving abroad, am in a great relationship and generally enjoying my life.

Something I thought I may never do again. Thank you so much for your help.

There is often an overlap between counselling and coaching.
Both have the aim of bringing about beneficial change so that we can move forward positively in our lives.
Most of us go through difficult times in our lives when we could do with some help and talking to a skilled counsellor can help us gain new perspectives, understand ourselves better and give us tools to maintain and support us in the future.
Sometimes we just need a space where we can offload to someone who is understanding, supportive and non judgmental.
You may be wondering what the difference is between mindfulness and meditation.
Often these words are used interchangeably.
Quite simply, mindfulness is something that we can learn to do as we go about our every day lives which helps to promote feelings of calm, peace and clarity even in the midst of chaos - so that we feel more in control of our selves and our lives.
Research shows that it helps us to be healthier, more relaxed, creative, sleep better and improve our relationships.
Meditation is something that is normally done sitting down with eyes closed, using mindfulness techniques.
Relationship problems are endemic.
You don't need to be in crisis to come for relationship counselling.
It makes a lot of sense to come before a problem turns into a crisis and this could prevent much heart-ache.
It's a sign of strength to recognise that we need help with relationship problems and in doing so we can live a more satisfying life.
It probably won't come as any surprise that there are rarely quick fixes in sorting out relationship difficulties.
My aim through counselling and coaching is to help couples improve their relationships through better communication, understanding and behavioural change.
