Couples Counselling Worcester
No, at Worcester Therapy Group we feel it is important to be seen as soon as you are ready to talk about your problems as a couple. Initial Assessments are available within a two week window and if you are flexible as to when you can come along then ongoing counselling can be arranged soon after your assessment. Most couples come for a minimum of 5 sessions, but how many you will need very much depends on your individual issues and circumstances.

It is really important to be open-minded and flexible at the start of the process to gain the maximum benefits longer term. Some couples find it very difficult to compromise and so the process of counselling is disrupted and perhaps ultimately unsuccessful. Despite this we find that something important has been communicated and individuals can take away insights that go on to inform their relationships in the future.

This is a very common problem, one partner is perhaps more sceptical that talking can help. They might feel that the Counsellor will take sides, particularly if infidelity is the issue.

An Initial Assessment is necessary before the counselling process begins.

If the online booking time slots aren't convenient for you then please give us a call as we may have other appointments available.
It is quite common for one partner to want to go for help while the other just feels under pressure to follow.
This reluctance is often the result of misconceptions about what's involved, especially the assumption that the Counsellor will take sides or even worse, judge people for their actions.
Another fear is that it will simply degenerate into arguments, but were this to occur, it would simply recreate in the session the same destructive situation happening at home and so the Counsellor can then help to break the pattern of behaviour to find a more constructive way of discussing your issues.
Psychosexual Therapy is a specialist therapeutic intervention that helps individuals and couples address their sexual concerns in a safe and contained context.
While the approach is largely based around proven CBT techniques, the therapist also uses an Integrated approach to help people explore, understand and work on their sexual goals.
Specific issues are addressed by the application of a Psycho-Social-Biological model which uses aspects of Psychodynamic, Systemic, Sensorimotor and Humanistic theory to facilitate key changes.
