During the pandemic we are continuing to offer individual therapy, couples counselling, group therapy and supervision online via Zoom, Skype, or phone. We offer a discount for people suffering financial hardship due to the pandemic. I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, counsellor, couples counsellor and group therapist. I am a member of the UKCP and the Institute of Group Analysis.
I am also the author of "How Psychotherapy Helps Us Understand Sexual Relationships: Insights from the Consulting Room" published by Routledge in 2019. The book is both for the general reader wanting to understand their own relationships better as well as for therapists and counsellors. I was born and trained in Germany before locating to the UK. I help clients with a variety of problems, including anxiety, depression, stress at work, relationship difficulties, and am fully bi-lingual in German and English.
I am qualified as both a Clinical Psychologist and a Group Analyst. I work with adults who have mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, postnatal depression, relationship problems, work related problems, and loss and bereavement.

Services
Private counselling provides a safe, confidential space in which you can explore your difficulties and what it is that stops you from living a more fulfilling life.
The counsellor will not judge you, but help and support you in finding your own way out of a crisis, in making a difficult decision, or coming to terms with a painful event, building on your strengths and helping you to grow as a person.
Many people initially contact us with their self-diagnosis, such as they need 'counselling for anxiety' or 'counselling for depression' or 'counselling for anger management'.

You might be looking for couples therapy because your ability to talk through the issues you are facing as a couple has broken down.
Therapy provides you with a secure, confidential setting away from your home where, with the help of an experienced couples therapist, you can find a way of talking to each other as well as listening and feeling heard.
The aim is to reach a deeper understanding of your difficulties and to help you both to find a way of moving forward.
Arguments that appear to originate in minor disagreements but quickly escalate and end up with one or other or both parties being hurt.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy draws on theories and practices of psychoanalysis.
The therapy helps you find a way of resolving your problems by increasing your understanding of yourself, your emotions and your relationships.
Therapy involves exploring how your experiences and feelings in the past, in particular in your childhood and adolescence, have formed who you are and continue to have an influence over your feelings and relationships in your current life.
Psychodynamic therapists are trained to work with the 'here-and-now' emotions of the therapy relationship as it unfolds.

The philosophy of group psychotherapy is similar to that of individual psychodynamic therapy in our belief that our past, our entire life story, continues to effect our feelings, thoughts and relationships in the present.
But the therapy group provides an even richer and mutually beneficial forum for getting to know and understand yourself, your feelings and your relationships with others.
Group therapy can help anyone who is feeling troubled, unhappy in their relationships, or who simply wants to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships with others in order to improve the quality of their lives.

Our approach to supervision is to offer a reflective space in which to think together about your work with your clients, to increase your awareness of the therapeutic relationship and your contribution to it, to expand your understanding of your clients' difficulties, and to attend to ethical and professional issues.
It is often helpful to have an initial talk to determine what your are looking for from supervision and what your development needs might be.
After this, you will be invited to develop a supervision contract with your supervisor, and this can be regularly reviewed and modified as appropriate to your needs.
