Thank you for your interest in my counselling service. My name is Brian Malone and I am a registered accredited counsellor with the Association of Christian Counsellors practising in the Blackpool and Fylde area. I am also an accredited provider for The Institute for Infant Loss and a registered counsellor for The Churches Ministerial Counselling Service.
I offer affordable counselling for individuals, Couples, Family and Children in an environment that is safe, confidential and non-judgemental. Although counselling can be daunting, I try to make the experience relaxed and enjoyable. I believe that the client-counsellor relationship can be established through the communication before the first counselling session begins so please call me to have a chat to see if I am the right counsellor for you.
I strive to continually improve my ability as a counsellor in order to provide the best service to the client that I can. I regularly study new topics through personal research, reading and regularly attending regular training courses.

Services
My first experience of counselling was as a client in 1999 after a traumatic and distressing time in my life.
At the time I was cynical about the relevance and usefulness of counselling but soon discovered how much it could help.
It was a time of self-discovery that started me on a journey of self-development that I would not have thought possible.
The personal changes during that time led me to discover my passion for wanting to help people who have doubts about themselves or are experiencing difficult times and situations in their in lives.

Each session lasts 1 hour with sessions conducted in Lytham St Annes and Blackpool (depending on room availability).
I try to make each session as relaxed and enjoyable as possible so there is usually a kettle boiled ready for a tea or coffee.
The model of counselling I use is an integrative model which means that I recognise the client's uniqueness and adapt my counselling to suit the individual's/couples needs.
My commitment to client's is for as long as they require my help and therefore counselling is open ended and the client decides how may sessions they require.

When life does not go right for you, it can be a lonely and frightening experience and you may feel that you are unable to speak to family or friends for fear of it not being kept confidential.
You may also feel that what you say will be judged or that to others it may appear trivial or strange so you have to sort out the issues on your own.
Counselling offers you the freedom to talk to somebody who will not judge you and hear what you have to say in a caring and accepting way in a safe environment.

Marriage (or even living together) is unchartered territory for many couples and for others it is a chance to start again after failed relationships.
There will be many pre-conceived thoughts and feelings of how to create and maintain the right balance for a long and successful relationship.
The reality is that a long term relationships rely on hard work, learning to adapt to each others ways, learning to compromise and learning to handle differences of opinion and learning to change to accommodate a partner.

We all enter into romantic relationships with great expectations and a fantastic feeling of being in love, a love that can conquer everything and one that will last forever.
However, being 'In Love' is easy and happens naturally.
Usually this feeling diminishes and evolves into something deeper, more difficult and more complicated - a loving relationship.
But 'Loving' is an act of will and takes continuous effort especially when difficult things occur and differences occur.
Unfortunately, nothing can prepare a couple for the unexpected pressures of life that create difficulties in a relationship and things can escalate out of control before they know it.
