If you're going through a difficult time or need somebody to talk to I offer individual and couples counselling in a comfortable and confidential environment at my private practice, located in Teddington and easily accessible from Twickenham and Hampton Hill. I also offer telephone and online video counselling. Feeling comfortable enough to put painful or confusing thoughts and feelings into words can bring relief and facillitate change so why not give me a call or send an email.

All communications are treated in confidence and I offer an no-obligation introductory session at a reduced rate. My approach gives you the time and place to talk about what is important to you without judging, or directing what you are saying. I offer warmth and understanding so that we can explore whatever it is that is troubling you, bringing awareness and insight into the nature of the problem.

I have particular experience in helping with relationship struggles, depression, a loss in your life, anxiety, stress, feeling low or alone, workplace problems, or coping with illness.
Services
We all get stuck sometime in our lives and within our relationships, and choosing to start counselling is a recognition that someone may be able to help, instead of struggling to deal with the problem alone.
Understandably we try to avoid painful feelings and thoughts, however talking about them and exploring our current and past experiences can bring deeper understanding to our situation, and our habitual ways of relating and responding.
There may have been a recent crisis but sometimes it can be difficult to identify the cause of our problems, and we may not understand why we feel anxious, emotional, or stressed.
The ability to create and maintain good relationships is fundamental to our well-being.
If you are unhappy in your relationship or are experiencing problems we can work together to improve communication and facilitate change.
Even if your partner does not want to attend with you, counselling alone can still be beneficial and have a positive impact on your relationship.
People often assume that couples counselling is for when a relationship is in its death throes, however many couples see it as a way to address concerns before they become conflictual, in order to enjoy a more satisfying and rewarding relationship.
We would have an initial appointment where we explore your concerns and expectations and you have the opportunity to ask any questions about counselling and how we would work together.
Research has shown that it is the relationship between the counsellor and the client that is the most significant factor for a positive outcome in therapy, so it is important for you to feel comfortable with me.
Should we decide to go forward we will agree an estimated time scale; maybe only a few sessions will be needed to work through a specific concern while exploring more deep seated issues can take longer.
If you are uncertain about how to deal with your feelings or problems then counselling can offer you relief, insight and possible resolution by talking to someone in confidence who is trained to really understand and help.
You may feel that the problem is too small and undeserving of being addressed, or that no one can help as everything has become so problematic, but I believe that nothing is too small or too big to be supported with.
If I feel it more appropriate for a referral to be made elsewhere this is something we can discuss.
