The Bridge Foundation is a Bristol-based charity that provides accessible, high quality clinical services to a wide range of individuals, professionals and commissioners. Since our formation in 1983, we have grown into a multidisciplinary, psychoanalytic Centre of Excellence, specialising in child and family mental health. Today, our Bridge Psychotherapy Service and Bridge in Schools programme provide therapy and consultation for more than 200 clients a week.
Due to the pandemic we have been able to reach a wider range of people by offering our services remotely. We also run a vibrant programme of public events and training courses, to promote the application of psychoanalytic thinking in clinical practice, the arts and public life.

The Bridge Foundation was founded in 1983 by Sally Box, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist trained at the Tavistock clinic.
The early vision was an organisation applying a psychoanalytic approach to understanding issues of everyday life, groups and organisations.
The Bridge became a registered charity in 1984 and the initial activities were developed along educational lines beginning with running a series of public lectures on psychoanalysis and everyday life.
The Bridge has continued to develop these founding principles with educational, and therapeutic services, for individuals, families, groups and organisations.

If you're age 18-25 and considering therapy, then lots of choices are open to you as an adult, and there are lots of places offering some type of therapy.
So why come to The Bridge?
If you're age 18-25 it's quite likely that your life is in a state of transition or you have recently had lots of transitions.
Maybe you have left school and started work, or you might be a student, you might be leaving home for the first time or deciding what to do with your life.
It may be that in some ways you feel adult and independent and in other ways you don't, or that you are anxious about changes on the horizon.
