In addition to private practice I have worked in the local community as a wellbeing worker and as a consortium supervisor. My role essentially assisted individuals to stay well and maintain independence. Every day was different but each day I aimed to support individuals to lead healthier lives and build their personal resilience to cope with live's challenges.

I have met some truly inspiring people and feel humbled to have been a part of their life for a short time, I take great delight in supporting individuals to value themselves and recognise that they have capacity to change, I trust that a person is their own expert they just need a little encouragement to believe in themselves. I work as an affiliate counsellor for a number of Employment Assistance Programmes (EAP's).

For those seeking EAP counselling I am happy to take referrals directly from employers for short term counselling. I offer either Face to Face, Online or Telephone apointments. I am also interested in building business relationships with EAP providers taking on employee referrals living in the Lancashire area.
Services
At some point in life, most of us experience emotional difficulties that can feel unmanageable, confusing or overwhelming.
At these times, we can feel very alone and isolated with our worries.
When people have problems or feeling distressed, it helps to talk about it, and therapists are specially trained to listen and understand each individuals distress.
Evidence shows psychological therapies do help.
Counselling can be helpful with a wide variety of issues that many of us experience in life.
We may need support during times of crisis or through important life changes.
I am an experienced counsellor and supervisor offering clinical supervision to qualified counsellors and psychotherapists and to those in training or in related professions.
I am also able to provide academic, accreditation support.
I work with an integrative approach and have supervised trainees and qualified practitioners from various models of therapy both in groups and one-to-one.
I enjoy working with students as it is so rewarding for me to see trainees develop and grow in confidence.
The primary purpose of supervision is to ensure that the counsellor is addressing the needs of the client.
Telephone counselling works in the same way as face to face counselling, but is conducted over the phone.
Some counsellors may offer this as an additional avenue of support between face to face counselling sessions, and others may focus solely on conducting the counselling over the phone.
The first step is simply for the client to call the counsellor for an initial discussion.
If the counsellor feels that telephone counselling is going to be an appropriate method of treatment, a session can be booked in for a time that is convenient for you.
Psychological research so far suggests that online therapy may benefit clients that don't have access to face-to-face therapy, for instance people living in rural areas.
Online therapy is recommended for short-term and brief interventions, but can also be long-term depending on the circumstances.
Note: You will be initially provided with an Informed Consent Form.
This is the legal procedure and gives the client an overview of online therapy including detailed information regarding the way the sessions will be conducted.
I respect my client's need for dignity, confidentiality and anonymity and will preserve this at all costs.
Clients have given consent to publish the following testimonials.
I had tried counselling in the past for another issue and it was not effective and had put me off a little.
Wendy developed rapport with me very quickly and was able to help me identify the sources of many issues linked to my original referral reason.
Together we worked through issues and i quickly felt able to cope and manage the situation i was facing better.
