I completed an MSc training in psychodynamic counselling & psychotherapy, and I work with individuals and couples to provide one-off exploratory consultations, short-term, long-term or open-ended therapy. I am also employed by one of the Colleges within the University of Cambridge and the NHS. My clinical training was within the National Health Service where I worked for many years as a counsellor & psychotherapist in the hospital setting.

NHS practice provides a broad, wide-ranging experience at the front line of emotional, mental & physical health which I draw on in private practice, and also provides my private clients with the knowledge that my practice is up to date, effective, professional and ethical. I have worked within the NHS and wider private healthcare setting in various roles since 1994 when I initially trained as a Registered Nurse.

I am a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and a Registered and Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
Services
My practice provides a secure, private and therapeutic space where difficulties can be examined, understood and worked through.
New perspectives and ways of thinking are discovered which usually bring with them lasting change.
Psychodynamic thinking recognizes links between the past and the present, and how our experiences today are influenced by our experiences in the past.
It is often the case that the difficulties that lead an individual or couple to seek counselling / psychotherapy are driven by issues that they are not consciously aware of.
This one-off meeting lasts for one hour and provides a space where we can think together about your difficulties, explore what might be happening, and also consider next steps.
It is sometimes the case that this experience is in itself enough for you at this time, and that is OK.
We may decide together to embark on a period of therapy and can explore what this might be like.
It could be that you are thinking about counselling or psychotherapy for the first time, wish to consider a different therapist or therapy to the one you have experienced before, or that you need a space to explore other options you have available to you.
I trained as a supervisor with the British Psychotherapy Foundation and work with individuals and groups from a psychodynamic perspective.
My experience is with counsellors and psychotherapists at all stages of their career including those in training.
Please get in touch for further details and to discuss your requirements.
I provide a confidential space to reflect on and process the day to day experience of working in key roles that are highly pressured and those that regularly lead to stress and involvement in traumatic events.
I have worked in people development, management and leadership roles in large global organisations and small UK based start-ups.
This experience provides a rich and broad-based understanding of what it takes to succeed in the workplace and also some of the challenges one can encounter when working with others.
I provide private & confidential goal-oriented coaching to individuals who are looking to develop in their career or think about specific issues in their current role.
Sometimes it is useful to work with someone separate to the organisation one is employed by to examine what the issues are, to help identify where one is trying to get to and to put plans in place to facilitate moving forward.
