I am a professional qualified and BACP Senior Accredited counsellor with extensive experience since 1996. My experience embraces working with PTSD in a hospital setting, over two years as a sessional counsellor at Hull University, referrals from EAPs as well as private clients with equally varied issues. My aim is to provide a safe, containing environment where my clients can express and explore difficult feelings and thoughts in complete confidence.
Services
I am both a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
As an Individual Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am bound by its Code of Ethics and Practice and subject to its Complaints Procedure.
I counsel from my home in Newport Village, East Riding, and there is offstreet parking and wheelchair access.
I was born in London, and after leaving school I decided to train as a priest.
After a year I knew this was not for me, and I joined the army.

Counselling is a process where the client is supported to find her/his answers to the problems that they bring to the counselling sessions.
This approach is based on the belief that we all have the capacity to resolve our problems, and that we often have more choices than we may think.
Counselling can help people who want to improve the quality of their lives.
People who seek counselling are not weird or peculiar but are just ordinary people who are looking for objective support to get through a difficult time or to make changes that would empower them.
