I am a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist working in Liphook on the borders of Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex (GU30). Do you, or does someone you care about feel lost, confused, hurt, angry, shocked, stuck, unhappy, unsettled, or do you just know that you don't feel right? Often in life we can overcome great difficulties again and again but sometimes we just need to be heard and not judged, or to share our pain without hurting those close to us.

Sometimes we need someone to understand how we really feel, or we may need help making decisions or uncovering our own resources and building our self esteem. Would it help to come and explore ways of working through whatever is causing problems for you now?
Services
I have been a Counsellor/Psychotherapist for over 20 years dealing with a wide range of issues.
I have worked in NHS and Educational settings as well as my private practice.
I also work with organisations to help with traumatic incidents, and am trained in workplace mediation and run training days on Resilience.
My first career was in retail banking, both locally and in The City.
I became a trainer in both the legal and lending aspects of banking.
Later, in conjunction with raising a family, I spent several years running courses on Managing Personal Change/Pre Retirement, and Redundancy/ Job Search.
Counselling will give you space to explore what is going on in a confidential, non judgemental, and safe environment.
We can't always change situations and we can't change other people but counselling can help us find our own inner resources, to help us understand ourselves better.
It can be an aid to find relief from past traumas, to deal with our own, sometimes unhelpful, behaviours.
Counselling can help to lift depression, help you relax, help to let go, help to grieve, help with communication and the building of relationships.
A form of psychotherapy developed to alleviate the symptoms of traumatic events.
It uses rapid eye movements or other bilateral stimulation to distract the conscious mind whilst allowing the unconscious mind to process the disturbing memories in a way which aims to alleviate the distress previously experienced.
Whilst developed for trauma EMDR is now used more widely for a variety of purposes.
EMDR should only be undertaken by a therapist who has been fully trained, with a reputable trainer.
The person centred approach believes that each individual is their own expert on themselves and their experiences.
Very positive, very supportive and extremely helpful in moving/making progress on a major life decision.
Would recommend it to anyone that was having problems and had fears and was dubious about counselling.
Extremely positive & feel that it has changed our relationship immensely, ensuring that though an incredibly difficult time we not only stayed together but came through it stronger.
Session times are available on weekdays and vary depending on current caseload but I aim to be flexible to suit your needs.
The number of sessions can be negotiated and reviewed.
I often work to an 8 session model which works well.
I am also happy to work longer term for ongoing issues, for personal development or for trainee counsellors.
My private practice is in Liphook, just half a mile from the Village centre with on site parking.
Liphook is on the main train line from London to Portsmouth so easily accessible by train from Liss, Haslemere and Petersfield.
