Counselling For Couples & Individuals
You are welcome to get in touch by phone or email if you require any further information or if you would like to arrange an initial appointment. From time to time, most people struggle with the stresses and pressures of daily life, it's part of being human. When we feel anxious, depressed or if we're trying to cope with difficult life events, past and present, our ability to make the most of life may be impacted.

As a psychotherapist my aim is to develop a supportive relationship with clients and to create a safe space for exploring feelings, thoughts and experiences. I believe the therapeutic process can bring about insight and understanding, along with greater self-awareness and emotional growth, allowing individuals to make choices for themselves and to move towards achieving a greater sense of balance and fulfilment in their lives.

Sometimes people find it hard to take the first step, fearful that looking closer within themselves or their relationships will result in greater pain or loss.
Services
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist the way I work is informed and influenced by a range of theoretical models, professional training and over 20 years experience of working therapeutically with clients.
My aim is to respond to each individual client's needs and to work in a flexible, collaborative and creative way.
I believe the relationship between client and therapist plays a central role in the process, providing the base from which understanding, insight and emotional growth may be achieved.
Individual clients embark on counselling/therapy for a wide range of reasons.
For some, it will be a life transition or 'crisis' that prompts them to seek support, whilst others might bring difficulties that have been part of their life for a considerable time.
Throughout our lives we develop resources and learn ways of coping with life's ups and downs; whilst some of these coping behaviours will have served us well, others may create blocks to our ability to build relationships and lead the life we want for ourselves.
In all their different forms, our relationships with others are crucial to our wellbeing as they provide us with a sense of belonging, boost our self-esteem and enable us to feel more fully alive.
In our intimate adult relationships we seek and often gain a profound sense of connection, but it is also here that we can feel the most challenged.
The couple relationship will demand that we compromise, adapt, change and forgive; over time we may feel criticised, misunderstood and rejected.
It can become increasingly difficult to disentangle ourselves from a growing web of confusion and resentment.
Mindfulness is the art of paying attention, without judgement, to what is happening for you in the moment.
Our heads are often busy with thoughts related to past and future; when we practice mindfulness we create a space for mind and body to engage with the present moment, which nurtures greater awareness and enables us to feel more fully alive.
Numerous research studies have provided evidence to support the benefits of mindful meditation.
