In counselling I offer a space to think, discuss, understand and move forward to make positive change. Are you experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression or have worries that seem to overwhelm you? Psychotherapy can offer you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. Seeing a counsellor can provide a safe space in a confidential, non-judgemental setting to explore some of these feelings and find a way forward.
My name is Martina and I work as a counsellor with both individuals and couples. I use psychoanalytic therory to draw links between the past and the present in an attempt to understand uncounscious roots in present day thoughts and behaviours. My practice is in Halesowen, is near Dudley, and is easily accessable from Junctions 3 and 4 of the M5 in Birmingham.
I am a counsellor and offer counselling in Halesowen and Dudley within easy reach of Birmingham, Stourbridge, Hagley, Bromsgrove, Redditch and Kidderminster in the West Midlands and Worcestershire.

Services
I have been a counsellor for 30 years.
I have worked for Relate as a couple counsellor, I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS working with stressed Doctors and I now work in my own private practice.
My Relate training means that I am specialised in couple counselling, however I have also undertaken further training in order to also work specifically with individuals.
In 1997 I completed a Masters degree in Counselling at Keele University and in this year I also completed a Certificate in Supervision.

Psychotherapy is a helping relationship that gives you the space to think about yourself and your life.
By thinking and talking together with a trained psychotherapist, you may find it easier to understand how past experiences, current patterns of thought and behaviour, or anxieties about the future are causing difficulties in your present life.
Through the relationship with your therapist and the shared exploration of your life, the hope is that you will find relief from recurring problems, live life more fully and realise your full potential.

Supervision offers a supportive, mentoring and learning environment in which a practitioner has space to reflect and re-examine sessions with clients.
In doing so we explore unconscious implications of clinical interventions, the therapeutic relationship, ethical dilemmas, blind spots and the impact of the institutional/ contextual settings on client work.
Supervision is the ability to conceptualise clinical material and apply appropriate interventions.
It identifies transference and counter transference issues.
