My name is Edward Giles and I was born in England in 1961. I have worked as a counsellor since 2001. In 2009 I became accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I'm also registered with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors / Psychotherapists. In counselling we work together to assess what you would want from our time together, which would allow me to provide you the most effective therapeutic approach. I started working as a counsellor on placement in 2001, qualifying at Diploma level in 2003.
After this, I developed an integrative approach attending further courses enabling me to utilise Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Intervention Therapy (SFBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) in addition to my core theoretical model of Person Centred Therapy (PCT).
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their framework for ethical practice.

I charge 40.00 per 50 minute session with concessions, depending on financial circumstances.
Normally, I work Monday to Friday starting at 9:00 am with some evening appointments available, though I do not work at the weekend.
There is a train station on the edge of Stafford town which is a 5 to 10 minute taxi journey.
Meetings are initially weekly, though I am flexible to meeting at intervals that suit your particular requirements; this may be fortnightly or monthly.
My guide for self-referrals is that as long as you feel there is a purpose in our meeting, we will continue to work together.
