Summerhouse Counselling
Set in my beautiful purpose built summerhouse in the Kent countryside close to Rochester, I can offer you one to one counselling in a peaceful and tranquil environment. I believe that for the counselling process to really work we need to address ourselves as a whole, mind, body and spirit. As a counsellor I aim to provide you with a healing experience where you can feel safe, held, really heard and understood.

I believe that when we are confused, hurt or misunderstood we don't need advice, but just someone to listen and guide us through our choices so that we can make our own decisions. I have trained as an integrative counsellor, which means that I use a blend of theoretical approaches. Walking in the beautiful countryside can often facilitate a more healing experience.

Therapy can be tailored made to your individual needs, and as a person centred therapist I am happy for it to be client led.
Services
I mainly work from a person centred perspective and use some CBT and psychodynamic thinking.
This means that I will listen to you, I will be accepting and non judgemental and I will walk alongside you while you explore your life's journey, to help you have a deeper understanding of anything that might be stopping you from moving forward.
My approach is sensitive to your needs and I will do my best to help you feel comfortable and safe to explore your problems in a warm and confidential environment.
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and am a member of the BACP accredited register.
I trained within an NHS Trust partnership, and work integratively, incorporating Person Centred Counselling, the Psychodynamic approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, all within the BACP ethical framework.
I have trained as an integrative counsellor, which means that I use a blend of theoretical approaches.
This is also known as humanist counselling and forms the basis of my therapy.
This means that I work with the core conditions of empathy, acceptance and honesty.
Some clients may find it helpful to have their sessions on the move.
As part of the therapy I am happy to walk alongside my clients, as I believe that for the healing process to really work we need to address mind, body, and spirit.

Confidentiality is hugely important and all discussions in counselling are confidential.
The only time I might break confidentiality is if there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, and in very rare cases where required by law.
