A warm welcome to you and thank you for visiting this site. I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor offering a range of services for adults and adolescents to help them overcome many issues. I aim to maintain only the highest of standards with the utmost confidentiality and care. The most effective treatment for OCD is a special form of talking therapy called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
A teacher from America wanted to more effectively understand his pupils, so spoke to over one thousand teenagers originating from a range of cultures and with different personalities and he made one request of them. He asked each teenager to write down one suggestion they would want to give to their parents. I have taken the liberty of picking out a selection of those pieces of advice I felt are particularly valuable as well as including some of my own, which teenagers have shared with me in the past.

The term 'psychotherapy' is used to describe a range of talking therapies to help overcome many psychological issues and difficulties which may be interfering with a person's every day life.
Psychotherapy involves exploring in depth your feelings, beliefs and thoughts, sometimes including those from childhood, to come to a fuller understanding of the problems you face.
Given the often sensitive nature of the issues discussed, developing a trusting relationship with the psychotherapist is paramount to effective treatment.

Counselling is an umbrella term for talking therapies in which you are provided with a safe and supportive environment to explore problems you are experiencing.
You may go to counselling to help with a specific problem, to help resolve conflicts in your life, or simply to gain greater confidence.
Counselling can also help overcome the feelings of embarrassment and fear of upsetting those you love that can sometimes make it difficult to talk to friends and family.
Talking to a trained professional can help you look at problems from a different perspective and equip you with the necessary strategies to work through problems.

Having received an MSc degree in CBT from one of the top UK higher level educational institutions, Goldsmiths College, I am proud to be able to offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in London.
CBT, although a relatively new form of therapy, has proven to be more effective and quicker than other therapies for many conditions especially depression, and anxiety.
It is considered the treatment of choice by the NHS and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
CBT is very successful in treating a range of issues like stress, low self-esteem, bi-polar, anger management, panic attacks, OCD, addictions, sleep problems, ADHD, work/career issues, and phobias.

Adolescence can be a difficult stage in life.
Adolescents face increased academic and social pressures just at a time when they are often less open to parental advice.
A qualified therapist can provide an adolescent with much needed emotional support in an honest, non-judgmental professional setting.
Therapy provides an opportunity for adolescents to work through difficult feelings and learn how to get their needs met.
Adolescent therapy incorporates many principles of adult therapy but also incorporates different strategies and techniques designed for this age group.
