I am a qualified and experienced counsellor working in Kings Cross and also offering online sessions. Whether you are coming to therapy with a specific problem you would like to address, or a more general sense of things feeling not quite right, of life not being as you would like or imagined it would be, I can provide you with an opportunity to explore whatever is troubling you in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space.
Some of the issues I can help with include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, work related issues, creative blocks, disordered eating, bereavement, gender identity, sexuality, domestic violence and abuse, past or present. I offer both short-term counselling and longer, open-ended work. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I hope this site will provide helpful information, and give you a sense of me and how I work.

Services
Many of us know from first hand experience that talking to another person can be invaluable in helping us to understand ourselves better, or in unravelling experiences and situations that we are struggling to come to terms with or would like to change.
I can offer a calm and supportive environment in which to do this, albeit one where challenging questions can be addressed.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist I am trained to listen and respond without judging you; as a person I am compassionate and down to earth.

My initial training was at the London Centre for Psychotherapy, where I completed a two-year foundation course in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
I followed that with a five year training at The Minster Centre, London, and was awarded an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
I also have a BA (Hons) in Communication Studies and an M.Phil in Cultural Studies.
I have had specialist training in working with people affected by domestic and sexual violence, and have worked intensively in this field.

Starting counselling or therapy can be a daunting prospect, and knowing where to turn and what to expect is not always obvious.
You are welcome to email or call to tell me a little about what brings you to therapy, and we will arrange an initial meeting as soon as we can.
This first meeting is an opportunity for you to tell me more about yourself, and what you would like to explore in your therapy.
We will discuss what your needs are, and any expectations or concerns that you have.
Equally, you will have a chance to get a sense of what I'm like and how I work, and I will be happy to answer any questions you have about the process or practicalities of therapy.
