My name is Suzie Hackett. Having trained initially as a Person Centred Counsellor and then in Gestalt psychotherapy, I now work as a Gestalt therapist located in Nantwich. I offer short and long term counselling and therapy to adults experiencing a wide range of different issues that are impacting their life and ability to function. I offer a safe, caring and respectful relationship where I endeavour to give you my best attention at all times.
Counselling and psychotherapy can help with a wide range of issues some of which include relationships, loneliness, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, illness, loss and bereavement, abuse, rape, domestic violence, personality disorders, childhood trauma and just feeling low and confused. I believe that everything about us, even our symptoms, pushes for our well-being.
Sometimes difficulties in relationships or challenging life events can be complicated due to unresolved past issues and old patterns of relating. It may be that you are experiencing such difficulties and having someone to talk to in the moment to moment relating between client and therapist can support you to exlore such patterns of relating and ultimately facilitate change helping you to feel more peace and fulfilment in life.

Services
Gestalt is a therapy of awareness and personal choice.
Whilst dialogue is central to our therapy sometimes we might work with your body process and include exercises in breathing, walking, and grounding.
This can often help raise awareness and give you, as the client, increased self-support as well as more choice around your difficulties.
I do not expect you to trust me right away, trust often takes time, sometimes a long time.
It is not my style to hustle or push you into areas beyond your self support.

I offer Supervision from my private practice based In Nantwich.
I really enjoy my work as a supervisor as it provides an opportunity to reflect on issues arising from counselling practice with both students and qualified counsellors who work in different settings.
I therefore strive to offer a safe space in which you can focus on your work with clients and the therapeutic process.
The relationship between me as supervisor and you as supervisee is a collaborative one, working together to decide how best to supportyour clients.
