I believe that the process of sharing anxieties, hopes and fears can help a person to develop and learn to make their own decisions and achieve their full potential. Everyone has the capability to manage their own difficulties, if they are supported through the process. Although your experiences and feelings are your own and nobody knows them better than you do, it can sometimes be difficult be to ask for help or find ways to explore your feelings and experiences by yourself.

Everyone has the right to be in control of their own lives and I will treat you with care, compassion, understanding, and will go at you're at your pace so that you gain satisfaction and balance in your life. I believe the relationship and trust between a client and their therapist is the most significant part of therapy and therefore I can offer you a supportive environment to explore your feelings.

I will listen to you and assist you to find a way through whatever is troubling you. I am warm, understanding and non-judgmental.
Services
Counselling is a very personal experience, and therefore the first meeting is important and helps you decide if you can work together.
My first session with you is not a counselling session but an initial consultation to establish what your situation and to help you will decide if I am the right person to help you.
Each counselling sessions thereafter last about 55 minutes and the rate is 40 per hour.
I will work with you in a block of sessions and then we will have a review session to allow us both to assess where we have got to and whether further sessions would be helpful.
Its private undisturbed, time set aside by you and the therapist to look at what has brought you to therapy.
This might include talking about life events, (past and present), feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour.
The therapist will help you to look at your issues, and help you identify the right course of action for you.
This will help you to resolve your difficulties or find ways of coping with them.
A therapy session is a specific time set aside on an agreed date and place, which provides a 'safe' space, which cannot be overheard or interrupted.
Mindfulness: is a way of training the mind to be present.
A practice which involves paying attention to "what is happening as it's happening".
It's something we all do in our own way from time-to-time.
However, as our minds are so used to racing around at an incredible speed and jumping from thought to thought, it's easy to get lost in regrets about the past or worries about the future and this can make us stressed.
I offer courses for people who wish to learn more about the theory and techniques involved in reducing stress and to learn skills which can deepen your sense of well-being.

I do not offer couple counselling, and I'm not an emergency service.
The thought of booking and having a counselling session can be a daunting prospect to a lot of people.
It's such an individual thing and so I offer a short free consultation so that you can meet me and decide.
