I'm a well-qualified, friendly (BACP registered) counsellor working from comfortable rooms just off the town centre in Seaford in East Sussex. I offer short term and open-ended counselling and I tailor my approach to the individual, as we all have unique needs. I imagine if you are looking for a counsellor right now then you are facing some challenges, that you would like some aspects of your life to be different and you are wondering if I, or counselling can help you.

Talking with someone who cares but is not involved in your everyday life and who is trained to listen attentively helps. You should feel supported and understood, yet gently challenged to gain understanding and acceptance of what exactly is going on, enabling you to start feeling better and make changes to improve your well-being.

I am a professionally trained Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners, which means I meet their standards for training, supervision, continuing professional development and I am bound by their ethical framework.
I strongly believe we are all human and all doing our best, sometimes under very challenging circumstances.
If you are seeking counselling, then most likely you are facing difficulties right now and probably struggling with them.
Feeling stressed and overwhelmed?
Maybe even experiencing physical symptoms like heart palpitations or panic attacks?
A little bit of stress can be a good thing, it motivates us to meet our goals and strive to achieve new challenges which can be fulfilling and rewarding but too much stress and our wellbeing can be affected.
Our close relationships are a very important aspect of our lives.
If you are struggling in your relationships, with your partner, family members, colleagues at work, or are perhaps having trouble establishing close relationships, it's normal that this would affect how you are feeling and your wellbeing.
Today's lifestyles are fast paced with many demands from work, or lack of it, to children, family and running the household, let alone finding any time for fun! Often whatever we are doing, we are working to capacity and then if something goes wrong, a relationship breaks down, a redundancy, a difficult boss, or teenager, we find we are kept awake at night thinking and problem solving rather than sleeping.
People who are suffering from stress and anxiety describe feeling anxious, or fearful, apprehensive or worried and irritable.
We are social animals.
Our very survival in our early childhood depends on us being loved and connected to an adult caretaker, whom we depend on to provide love, warmth food and shelter.
We enjoy the company of others and crave positive interactions and meaningful relationships.
However, fulfilling and supportive relationships don't come automatically, they require good social skills and determination to go the distance in order to make them work.
Experiencing problems in your relationships can be extremely painful, confusing, stressful and even infuriating, seeing a counsellor can help you find your way through.
Anger is a normal, essential, useful and natural human emotion.
It tells us when our boundaries have been crossed and can help us keep ourselves safe.
Anger is a problem-solving emotion, it gives us energy and motivates us to act.
However sometimes, particularly if we are stressed, our anger can take control of us, causing us problems in our lives.
The report, Boiling Point, by the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) in 2008 and based on a sample of almost 2000 people all over the country, states that more than 1 in 4 people worry about how angry they sometimes feel, 1 in 3 people say that they have a close friend or family member who has difficulty controlling their anger, and 1 in 5 say that they have ended a relationship or friendship because of how the other person behaved when they were angry.
